  • What age do you have to be to receive Brain Integration? Should I plan on staying in the room with my child?
All ages - child to adult to geriatric - will benefit from BIT. Children of any age are candidates for BIT. School age children benefit especially well. If you child is 8 years old or less, you should plan on staying in the room during the treatment. Hartz 'n' Handz and BIT Practitioners are not responsible for unattended children.
  • What is treatment like?
BIT is a very relaxing, non-invasive procedure. The client lays on a massage table and the practitioner uses Muscle Monitoring, acupressure touch, and gently holds the head to make the correction. Clients report that BIT is very relaxing and often rejuvenating.
  • Do I have to have a learning problem to benefit from BIT?
No. BIT may help with traumas, depression, sleeplessness, stress, physical discomfort/pain, overthinking, exhaustion and many, MANY other issues.
  • Do I need to change my diet during treatment?
Nutrition is a factor that is often overlooked with regard to learning disabilities and the effect it has on them. According to an article in the Boulder Daily Camera, there are numerous national studies that show that children who eat a lunch packed with sugar and caffeine have a hard time concentrating, and thus learning. In addition, studies revealed that when students had a healthy meal, their performance went up and ADD symptoms decreased. And do not forget the importance of staying hydrated. Make sure you drink plenty of water at all times.
  • What should I bring to a Brain Integration appointment?
We recommend that you are well-fed and well-hydrated before you arrive for your session. Please bring water and snacks if you’re receiving long or multiple sessions in one day. When your child is receiving treatment, he/she may play with toys (with no batteries or electricity), read (or be read to), or listen to music during their sessions.
  • What if I (or my child) is on medication?
Medication does not compromise the treatment, nor does the treatment compromise medication. Crossinology practitioners are not medical doctors and do not make any recommendations regarding prescriptions. Please consult your doctor or psychiatrist with any questions you have regarding your current medication(s) prior to beginning treatment.
  • How many hours does it take? How many sessions will I need?
BIT takes roughly between 12 – 28 hours to complete. Clients come for sessions ranging from 1 to 3 hours and may have multiple sessions in one day. Small children are recommended a shorter, 1-hour visit. During the first visit, you will be assessed to determine an approximate number of hours the protocol will take. Once you complete the BIT protocol, it is recommended that you come back for an initial check-up after 4-6 weeks. Additional checkups will be recommended by your practitioner.
  • When will I see results?
Many clients report changes after the first session. However, you may not see changes until the entire protocol is finished and the brain has the time to integrate the changes. The general guideline for the integration period is 30 days.
  • Can BIT change my personality or do any damage to the brain?
No. BIT can only take stress out of the synaptic “wires” of the brain. A BIT Practitioner cannot change your personality, or make you a different person. A BIT practitioner cannot harm the brain because we are not using chemicals, computers, or physical adjustments of any kind.
  • I heard an ADD/ADHD brain is more creative. If I have this treatment will it effect my creativity?
No. An ADD brain often seems more creative because an individual with ADD has more access to the creative hemisphere of the brain than to the logic hemisphere. In this case, people with ADD/ADHD become more focused and effective, because BIT opens up access to the logic hemisphere.
  • What kind of changes will I see?
Most clients report better sleep, a more relaxed state of being, decreased stress, anxiety and worry, more success in school and work (sometimes can be quite drastic), a clearer mind, tasks that once were hard are easier or very easy, ability in areas that were previously hard, improved digestion and health, etc.! The list goes on and on. Please see the testimonials for further anecdotal information.
  • Do I have to do the whole Integration at once?
Clients may choose to stretch out the treatment period for any reason. It is recommended that a client finish the main protocol within 3 months of starting, but this is a general guideline.
  • Is it true BIT can help with chronic physical pain?
Yes. Muscle ReActivation (MR) is an advanced class within Crossinology Brain Integration, and is used to help alleviate physical discomfort. Basically, when you have physical pain, some wires from the brain to the body may be crossed, and healthy communication is unclear or lost. MR restores communication so your body and brain can communicate well, and the "I'm in pain" signals can turn to, "nah, it's all good" ones. We also check the emotional components of pain.
  • How many hours did you study?
Total? Between the prerequisites, required classes, every advanced class offered and my case studies I have invested upwards of 700 hours.
  • Do you take insurance? Can I use my flexible spending account?
BIT is not currently covered by any type of insurance. However, we are happy to provide documentation for flexible spending accounts upon request.
  • How close do the appointments need to be scheduled?
Appointments are generally scheduled in one of three ways: weekly or bi-weekly, over the course of 2-3 days, or spread out but longer sessions. Your practitioner can help you choose the right path for you.
  • What if I'm not sure that my child (or myself) has a learning problem?
Both children and adults with learning difficulties often display the following characteristics: Poor memory Short attention span, distractibility Impulsiveness, restlessness or impatience Inability to self-motivate or self-manage Poor reading fluency and/or comprehension Poor spelling Poor handwriting Letter or number reversal Difficulty memorizing times tables Difficulty understanding math concepts or complex problems Difficulty following and/or giving directions Over- or under-sensitive to noise, light or touch Poor auditory processing – asking the same question again and again and again Behavioral issues related to learning difficulties – anxiety, frustration or avoidance behavior Poor physical coordination and/or balance
  • Is BIT right for me?
Although everyone may benefit from brain integration, you may see especially dramatic results if you have difficulty with five or more of the following: Letter or number reversal Eye strain Test anxiety Short attention span/difficulty concentrating Lack of self-confidence Poor reading ability and comprehension Inability to finish projects Poor organizational skills Spelling problems Difficulty following or giving directions
  • Can BIT help people with drug and/or alcohol problems?
This alternative treatment method is beneficial for almost everyone. If you have addiction problems, BIT can help relieve stresses that might be causing your behavior. Keep in mind that our practitioners enable the brain to learn. We do not make the brain learn. Please consult your doctor or psychiatrist with any questions or concerns you may have prior to beginning your treatment.
  • Will I still need additional help, like tutoring or other therapy, after BIT?
The answer to this question depends on a few factors. For example: 1. If a Crossinology practitioner sees a student who is 16 years old and has missed a few years in his/her mathematics knowledge, the student will probably need tutoring to catch up to his/her grade level. 2. If a student is very young, the normal practice of reading and/or spelling in the classroom may be all they need after treatment. 3. In some cases, you or your child might still need behavioral therapy or modification. Or your family might need counseling for assistance with family dynamics. If so, we recommend that you see the appropriate professionals for those services.
  • I don't have any learning problems. Can "smart" people benefit from BIT?
Absolutely! If you are human you can benefit from BIT. We can help with allergies, sensitivities, emotional balance, candida, cravings, sadness, overwhelm, etc.
  • Do I have to sign a contract?
No. You will not need to sign any contracts. You WILL fill out a long Intake Form before beginning the protocol, however, you are not actually committing to anything.
  • What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept cash, money orders, cashier's checks and all major credit cards.
  • Do you offer payment plans?
No. At this time I do not.
  • What if I need to cancel my appointment?
You are welcome to do so, but please give me 48 hours' notice. With less than 48 hours, you will be charged the full price of your appointment.
  • Can the full Protocol be completed at a distance?
Though many things within Brain Integration can be done at a distance, the full protocol is NOT one of them.
  • What if I already had the BIT protocol done with a therapist long distance?
You have probably seen some wonderful changes and improvements, but I promise you it doesn't even scratch the surface of the possibilities when done in person as it should be. I encourage you to meet your therapist IN PERSON. Parts of the protocol that MUST be done in person include: Amygdala pupillary dilation/constriction Hypothalamic pupillary dilation Extrinsic & Intrinsic Eye Muscle Balance (6 individual balances) Auditory Integration (2 to 4 balances) Auditory/Visual Integration (2 balances) Balance (4 balances) Repatterning (10 to 18 balances) That's up to 36 balances that MUST be done in person. That is significant! Ask your therapist about those areas if you need to.
  • What is the "Test Drive"?
The Test Drive is the final part of the full protocol. It involves reading, writing, putting puzzles together, sequencing, repeating numbers forward and backward, and balancing emotions. It makes sure the balances in the rewiring portion of the protocol were effective, and gives evidence to their new, smooth function. It is a critical and final part of the protocol.
  • Will I need to do the BIT protocol again in the future?
Short Answer: No. Long answer: You may need some of it again. Let's say before BIT your brain is a disorderly library, not ready for the public. BIT is the contractor and cleaning crew that goes in and rebuilds, cleans, repairs, and organizes the entire building making it ready for business. THAT is accomplished with the full protocol. Now let's say after the protocol, whether months or years down the road, something big happens in your life; a big move, job loss, divorce, death of someone close, etc. These things can upset your "library." They can act like a small tremor - knocking a few things out of order - to a full blown earthquake, which will cause more damage. After a tremor or earthquake, the cleaning crew will need to come back in and fix things up. But it will be fairly quick and easy if you catch it in time. That is one of the reasons I recommend an annual visit of 1 to 2 hours to catch those little issues as they come.
